02 Ağustos 2014 Cumartesi günü saat 10:00’da Uluborlu er meydanında gerçekleştirilen 38.Geleneksel Uluborlu Yağlı Pehlivan Güreşlerinde yaklaşık 450 pehlivan güreş tuttu.
Müsabakaları izleyen Gençlik ve Spor Bakanımız Akif Çağatay KILIÇ, er meydanında gazetecilere yaptığı açıklamada, Uluborlu’ya güreş eğitim merkezi yapılacağının müjdesini verdi. Uluborlu’da ata sporu güreşe gösterilen ilgiden memnuniyet duyduğunu dile getiren Kılıç, yeni yatırım ve desteklerle güreşin farklı yerlere gelmesi için çalışmalara devam edeceklerini bildirdi.
Bakan KILIÇ’a, Isparta Valisi Vahdettin ÖZKAN ile ilçe belediye başkanları ve protokol üyeleri eşlik etti.
18 başpehlivanın yarıştığı güreşlerde birinciliği Mustafa Kemal KARABOĞA kazanırken ikinci Ekrem YAVUZ oldu. Üçüncü ve dördüncülüğü ise Ramazan BİRCAN ve Hasan CENGİZ paylaştılar.
Müsabakalar sonrasında dereceye giren pehlivanlar için ödül töreni düzenlendi.
